12.2: Pacing

( \newcommand{\kernel}{\mathrm{null}\,}\)

The Concepts in Statistics textbook contains eleven modules—approximately two modules every three weeks for a sixteen-week semester. If you need to modify the pace and cover the material more quickly, the following modules work well together:

  • Module 1: Types of Statistical Studies and Producing Data and Module 2: Summarizing Data Graphically and Numerically
  • Module 3: Examining Relationships: Quantitative Data and Module 4: Nonlinear Models
  • Module 5: Relationships in Categorical Data with Intro to Probability and Module 6: Probability and Probability Distributions

The following module contains less material and can be covered faster than the average pace. This allows for some time to review basic math concepts at the start of the term or to weave in additional practice during the term.

  • Module 11: Chi-Square Tests

We recommend NOT doubling up the following modules, because they have more material to cover and/or are more challenging. Students will need more time for mastery and completion of assignments.

  • Module 9: Inference for Two Proportions
  • Module 10: Inference for Means
