Feynman primarily worked with quantum mechanics, which studies the interaction of subatomic particles. He worked on the development of the atomic bomb during World War II and became well known as a member of the Rogers Commission, the panel that investigated the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster. He is also credited with pioneering the field of quantum computing and nanotechnology. Feynman is also known for his many popular books on physics and science. The quotation at the beginning of the chapter is taken from a video lecture on the scientific method recorded in 1965.
